These are physical limitations and punishments given by an Authority Figure (Interdictor) that prevent the Hero from embarking on the Journey and Transformation. In Star Wars (1977), Uncle Owen wants Luke to wait another harvest; when Luke goes missing, "there will be hell to pay..." In The Incredibles (2004), the government bans all superhero activity. The interdiction is further enhanced by Mr Incredible's anal boss ("if you act you'll be fired!")
